GWS Fund Terms of Reference and Grant Conditions

Only members of the Woolhope Club can submit applications and, except in special circumstances, the member who applied for the grant must still be a member when the grant is claimed.

A grant, if awarded, will have a time limit for the claim for payment, after which it must be applied for again.

While the terms of reference are very general, there are certain things which will not be grant-aided:

- Research grants to individuals.

- Appeals for the restoration or repair of buildings and the conservation of artefacts.

- The cost of arranging or attending conferences and meetings.

- The cost of publication of papers in the Club’s Transactions or other similar journal.

- The cost of organising or attending training or educational courses.

- Grants from which the recipient will receive a direct financial or commercial benefit.

The GWS Fund has a good track record in grant-aiding publications relating to all aspects of Herefordshire, and it is particularly keen to bring information on the county into the public domain.

Initial enquiries, on an informal basis, should be made by email to the current chairman of the Fund committee, so that guidance can be given about submitting an application. Use the Officers button and select GWS chairman for details of conditions and how to apply for funding.
